Astronauts are taking in rare views of the moon during a lunar fly-around Monday, a highlight of the Artemis II mission.

Artemis II is humanity’s first lunar voyage in more than a half century and the thrilling leadoff in NASA’s push toward a moon landing in two years.

Carrying three Americans and one Canadian, the 32-story rocket rose from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center where thousands gathered to witness the dawn of this new era on April 1.

Monday’s flyby is expected to last six hours.
