WATCH: President Trump’s farewell address

Though President Donald Trump didn’t name his successor, he extended his “best wishes” to the incoming administration in a “farewell address” video message, released by the White House on Tuesday afternoon.

“This week we inaugurate a new administration and pray for its success in keeping America safe and prosperous,” Trump said in the video. “We extend our best wishes. And we also want them to have luck. A very important word.”

Trump is expected to skip President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration on Wednesday, becoming the first outgoing president in more than a century to skip the inauguration of his successor.

He has also passed on inviting the Bidens to the White House for a get-to-know-you meeting. And it remains unclear whether he will write Biden a personal welcome letter, like the one he received from former President Barack Obama when he moved in.
