Riggins remembers his NFL draft experience 50 years later

Though John Riggins is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame largely for his legendary career with the Washington Football Team, it was the New York Jets that selected “Riggo” sixth overall in the 1971 NFL draft.

WTOP’s George Wallace sat down with the Burgundy and Gold great to discuss his Draft Day experience 50 years later, and what present-day Washington should do at quarterback and with its first-round selection.
