Prisoner used guard as shield, stole her gun

Wossen Assaye appeared in federal court to face an escape charge after he led police on a nine-hour manhunt that started when he fled from Inova Fairfax Hospital early Tuesday. His escape prompted a lockdown at the hospital and led to two carjackings and a car crash before he was spotted on the streets of D.C.
