Metro Area Musical Fundraiser For Oklahoma Victims-This Saturday

Because of the horrific scenes coming out of Oklahoma after the tornado, the members of the Havre de Grace Seventh-day Adventist Church, Rockville and the Pray at the Pump Movement (PAPM) are sponsoring a community musical fundraiser to secure funds for the victims of the Oklahoma tragedy. Outstanding Montgomery County artists such as trumpeter Dr. Rodney Charitable and other musical and dance artists from around the Washington metropolitan area will be on hand. PAPM is suggesting that the community stop by the event in between their shopping and running weekend errands and enjoy the music and leave a donation for the victims. The contributions will be sent to ADRA, Adventist Development Relief Agency. Saturday, May 25, 2013, 11 am to 1 pm Havre de Grace Seventh-day Adventist Church, 112 West Montgomery Avenue, Rockville, Maryland. For more information call 301-768-1076 or E-MAIL RLT5401@YAHOO.COM.

Queen Force One

It's the name of the Food & Friend's shuttle bus that ferried nearly a dozen drag queens around DC to some of the restaurants taking part in Food & Friend's Dining Out for Life. More than 100 restaurants throughout DC, Virginia and Maryland donated 25% -110% of their proceeds from lunch and/or dinner to Food & Friends helping to get daily nutritious meals to thousands of your neighbors facing HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-challenging illnesses. BTW, the thumb nail picture is of "all dolled up" Craig Shniderman, executive director of Food & Friends standing with NBC News National Correspondent Steve Handelsman (who just happened to be at La Tomate in DuPont Circle when Queen Force One landed.)
