Nahal Amouzadeh’s interest in journalism started at a young age by watching Christiane Amanpour on CNN with her dad.

Since then, her experience has ranged from print to web to now radio. She graduated from UCLA with two Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Gender Studies respectively. During her time there, she became the Opinion Editor for FEM Newsmagazine, UCLA’s feminist newsmagazine since 1973, and found her passion in advocacy journalism.

After graduation, she became a reporting fellow for Everyday Feminism, and is happy to be at WTOP as a Digital Editor.

When she’s not writing for web, she sometimes dabbles in creative writing, definitely watches Netflix, and occasionally can be found curled up with a good book.
