Colleen Kelleher is an award-winning journalist who has been with WTOP since 1996.
Kelleher joined WTOP as the afternoon radio writer and night and weekend editor and made the move to WTOP.com in 2001.
Now she works early mornings as the site’s Senior Digital Editor.
Kelleher has worked at CNN and USA Today. At CNN, she wrote news for the TV network’s national and international newscasts. At USA Today, she wrote radio news for ABC affiliates across the nation.
Her radio career includes anchoring and reporting news in all-news, news-talk and music formats. She anchored and reported news for WIBX, an all-news station in upstate New York and for Winston-Salem, N.C.’s news-talk station, WSJS. Kelleher’s career path includes working at radio stations in Western Maryland (WHAG/WQCM), on Maryland’s Eastern Shore (WCTD) and in Delaware (WGMD and WYUS). In Greensboro, N.C., she also worked as a traffic reporter for Greensboro Traffic Patrol and as an assignment editor for WFMY-TV.
Kelleher’s career includes reporting for both daily and weekly newspapers in Maryland and Delaware and work as a public relations account executive in Alexandria, Virginia.
She holds a master’s degree from American University and a bachelor’s from Loyola University in Baltimore.
