• All lanes of damaged Delaware bridge re-open

Delaware transportation officials say a bridge on a key East Coast interstate has fully re-opened after it was closed in early June because several supporting columns were tilting.

  • Another bridge across Potomac River unlikely

Another crossing between the American Legion Bridge and Point of Rocks over the
Potomac River could alleviate the traffic-riddled Interstate 495 by taking traffic
away from the Capital Beltway, but differences between Maryland and Virginia may make it unlikely.

  • Overnight full lane closures on I-495 for Feb. 5

There will be intermittent full lane closures on
the Outer Loop of the Beltway at Route 7 Leesburg
Pike at Exit 47. The closures could last up to 30
    minutes at a time.

  • Telegraph Road construction continues

Lane closures associated with the Wilson Bridge
Project continue this week on the Capital Beltway
near Telegraph Road, with lanes affected during
    daytime and overnight hours.

  • Project on Beltway’s local lanes expected to affect traffic

An ongoing paving project in Virginia is expected to cause delays during rush hours for the next few weeks.

  • Construction at Beltway Interchange spurs traffic complaints

It happens so often because of all the construction on our roads: A change is made to a travel pattern, and traffic becomes worse in a location.
