Potomac home under construction goes up in flames

WASHINGTON — A large home under construction in Potomac, Maryland caught fire Tuesday morning.

The fire broke out at a home located on Horsehoe Lane, not far from the TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm golf course.

In tweets, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman Pete Piringer says part of the home has collapsed as the fire consumed the attic and roof.

No one has been injured.

According to Piringer, a news helicopter had to make an emergency landing not far from the site of the house fire. The helicopter landed as a precaution.
