Beer of the Week: Bluejacket The Ave IPA

WASHINGTON — If a glass of beer were a street, you’d want to stroll down this one.

WTOP’s Brennan Haselton is joined by Neighborhood Restaurant Group beer director and Food and Wine Sommelier of the Year Greg Engert to talk about Bluejacket The Ave IPA for the latest edition of WTOP’s Beer of the Week.

Quick Facts:

  • Brewery: Bluejacket, Washington, D.C.
Description: The Ave is a juicy, intensely aromatic IPA, brewed and double dry-hopped with Centennial hops for bold notes of tangerine, lemon and orange peel.
  • ABV: 7.7 percent
  • Greg’s pairing suggestions: Briny seafood (e.g., raw Mid-Atlantic oysters); anything fatty, rich and fried; Indian takeout (e.g., curries); and desserts (e.g., carrot cake)
