Acacia James attended Howard University and graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in political science.

During her college years she heavily participated in campus media and interned with the ABC7 affiliate station.  

After graduating Acacia interned with NPR on the midday show “Here & Now” and began working as an assignment desk assistant with NBC news shortly after.
