WASHINGTON — A Montgomery County man is facing charges after his 20-month-old daughter was found with PCP and Xanax in her system.
Montgomery County police charged 38-year-old Jayson Hall with child neglect and reckless endangerment after his daughter ingested the drugs in his care on Wednesday.
The child’s mother told police she was at work when she received a call from her 13-year-old son that the 20-month-old was unresponsive. The mother said she immediately came home and her daughter wasn’t breathing, according to information police released Friday.
Hall, a Germantown resident, was home at the time, police said.
Emergency crews transported the child to Adventist Healthcare Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville Wednesday evening in serious condition. A blood test showed that PCP and Xanax were in her system.
The mother said before she left for work earlier in the day, she noticed a bottle of pills sitting on a coffee table and asked Hall to move them so the child couldn’t get them. She told police she left the child in Hall’s care, believing he would move the pills.
It’s not yet clear what was in the pill bottle.
Police arrested Hall Wednesday and charged him with neglect of a minor, reckless endangerment, and contributing to a condition which rendered the victim in need of supervision.
Hall was released after posting a $10,000 bond.
The child is home from the hospital, Montgomery County Police Officer Rick Goodale said.
