Goldsboro Rd. slowly reopening after water main break

(1/6)

WASHINGTON — A major Montgomery County road was closed for a few hours Wednesday morning after a water main break.

Goldsboro Road was closed between MacArthur Boulevard and Tulip Hill Terrace after the break in the 74-year-old main lifted the road about six inches, authorities say. The southbound lanes were reopened at about 8:30 a.m.; about 10 minutes later, both directions were opened, but they’ll share one lane in the vicinity of the break.

The RideOn Route 29 bus had stopped going to Glen Echo, but service resumed at about 9.

There’s no estimate yet of when the repairs will be finished.
