WASHINGTON — When the sun is shining and the temperature is just right, everything tastes better outside.
Here are 10 rooftops and patios in the D.C. area where you can enjoy everything from an ice cold beer to a platter of beef bourguignon.
Top of the Gate at The Watergate Hotel
The rooftop bar at The Watergate Hotel is undoubtedly one of the nicest places to enjoy the weather — and libations — in the D.C. area. Catch 360-degree views of the Kennedy Center, Potomac River and the monuments. The rooftop is open Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., Friday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., Saturday from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Bourbon Steak
Also in Georgetown is Bourbon Steak at the Four Seasons. Inside, guests can dine on some of the best cuts of meat around. But the outdoor patio and courtyard is a great place to casually sip on a cocktail and choose a bite to eat from the bar’s menu — lobster corn dogs, anyone? There’s also a Wagu burger and oak-fired steaks. When the temperatures dip, fire pits keep you warm.

Barcelona
The outdoor patio at Barcelona on 14th Street is the place to see and be seen. (The tapas aren’t too shabby, either!) For a quieter crowd, head to the restaurant’s second location in Cathedral Heights, which also has a sizable patio.

Le Diplomate
Also on 14th Street is the popular french bistro, Le Diplomate. Nosh on oysters and bubbly, opt for a burger and beer, or dive into a plate of duck confit on the lively outdoor patio.

Bluejacket
Bluejacket’s patio is a great place to sip a made-in-D.C. beer near the river in Yards Park any day of the week, but it’s an especially great place to be before a Nationals game. The brewery and restaurant expanded its outdoor patio for the season, and on home games, a grill churns out burgers and sausages.

Dacha Beer Garden
Another great place to grab a beer outside is Dacha Beer Garden in Shaw. It pours German, Belgian and American craft beers.
