DC restaurant apologizes for hosting white nationalist group

WASHINGTON (AP) — A popular Italian restaurant in Washington has apologized for hosting a white nationalist group whose members performed a Nazi salute while dining there.

Maggiano’s Little Italy posted an apology on its Facebook page on Monday.

The restaurant said it did not realize it was hosting a banquet for a group called the National Policy Institute on Friday. The post says the group made the reservation at the last minute and using a different name.

The group was in Washington for a conference where it celebrated the election of Donald Trump.

Former reality star Tila Tequila tweeted a photo from inside the restaurant where she and others can be seen making a Nazi salute.

Maggiano’s says it has donated its profits from the evening to the Anti-Defamation League.
