WASHINGTON — Washington Redskins fans of all ages and from all over the Mid-Atlantic came to Richmond, Virginia, for Fan Appreciation Day at the team’s training camp Saturday.

Some fans admitted it was a scorcher, but the chance to see their favorite team up close was more important.

Anthony Williams and Robert Carter came up from Charlotte, North Carolina, home of the defending NFC Champion Panthers. “Yeah, but we defected a long time ago,” Williams said. “We came to see Josh Norman and the rest of the boys, support them on the 2016 campaign.”

“Lifetime Skins fan, no changing,” added Carter.

Kerry Claiborne, a fan from Charleston, South Carolina, said, “I want to see the defensive line against the offensive line, some of that one-on-one competition.” She added, “I want to see some bombs, want to see D-Jackson out there stretch his legs a little bit.”

At a minimum, lots of fans were expecting the Redskins to repeat as division champions.
