After getting cut off by a turning four-door sedan car, the motorcycle crashed and the rider flew into the air over a car. The motorcycle then hit a crowd of four pedestrians on a nearby sidewalk.

Those four victims were taken to the hospital, where Santos later died. The motorcycle driver does not have life-threatening injuries, according to a spokeswoman with the Price George’s County Police Department.

East-West Highway between Belcrest and Toledo Roads was closed earlier as police conducted an investigation into the accident but the road has since reopened.
