Metrorail service restored for Yellow, Blue lines; delays expected

WASHINGTON — Service for Yellow and Blue line trains from Pentagon City Metro station has been restored after it was suspended Wednesday night. Delays are still expected in both directions.

Metrorail service was previously suspended after reports of light smoke just before 9:50 p.m.

Yellow Line train service was suspended between Pentagon City and L’Enfant Plaza while Blue Line train service was suspended between Pentagon City and Arlington Cemetery.

Service was suspended due to some light smoke in the tunnel at the Pentagon City station, Metro said. A circuit breaker tripped near the third rail, causing the light haze, but there was no fire.

Shuttle buses were available.

No one was in the tunnel when the smoking occurred.
