Clorox recalls 3 liquid clog removers due to child-safety failure

WASHINGTON — The Clorox Co. has recalled three Liquid Plumr products because the bottles are not child-resistant since the tops can be easily removed.

The Liquid Plumr products that the company has recalled include the following:

  • Liquid Plumr Pro-Strength Foaming Clog Fighter (UPC code: 44600-00214);
  • Liquid Plumr Industrial Strength Urgent Clear (UPC code: 44600-31484 );
  • Liquid Plumr Pro-Strength Urgent Clear clog removers (UPC code: 44600-30548).

Find the UPC code on the lower left corner from the back of the bottles. This recall is only for bottles made before March 22, 2016.

Consumers should keep the bottle away from children and contact the Liquid Plumr call center at 855-490-0705 during business hours or access the Liquid Plumr website for refund and disposal options.

The products can cause chemical burns and because they contain sodium hydroxide, they are required to have child-resistant packaging as outlined by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act.
