WASHINGTON — October was the best month for home sales in the region in a decade.
In some parts of the area, the median sales price was up year-over-year, while in other spots they dropped. In Manassas City, Virginia, the median sales price was up more than 23 percent in October from the same month last year — from $227,000 to $280,000 — according to RealEstate Business Intelligence, which provided the latest data.
In Charles County, Maryland, the median price rose about 9 percent, from $229,900 to $250,750.
Falls Church, Virginia saw an 8 percent increase, $615,00 to $665,000.
On the other side of the coin, the median home sales price in St. Mary’s County, Maryland fell more than 16 percent, from $286,000 to $239,000.
There was more than a 6 percent drop in Manassas Park City, Virginia, from $269,900 to $252,000.
Howard County, Maryland also logged a 3 percent decrease.
As for D.C., the median home price rose from $500,000 to $514,000, an increase of nearly two percent.
