Shots fired into homes puzzle Va. police

WASHINGTON — Several homes in Prince William County have been hit by bullets in the past month, raising concern among residents and police.

Nobody has been hurt in the incidents, and no arrests have been made.

“The bullets have the potential to, of course, hit somebody, and potentially cause serious injuries, or even death,” says Sergeant Jonathan Perok, spokesman for Prince William County police.

In the most recent incident, March 5, a homeowner on Andover Heights Drive in Woodbridge reported finding a bullet hole in the side of a residence. On further inspection, a bullet was located in an upstairs bedroom.

On Feb. 26, on Manassas Drive in Manassas, a homeowner discovered a bullet on a bedroom floor.

Police do not believe the incidents are related.

“It was a little over a week time span between the occurrences, and they occurred on the complete opposite ends of the county,” says Perok.

Earlier, on Feb. 18, several homeowners on Banjo Court in Woodbridge reported hearing gunshots. Responding officers discovered several residences were damaged, with bullets found lodged in exterior and interior walls.
