Boy crossing Bowie street struck by car

WASHINGTON — A young boy is in the hospital after being struck by a car in Bowie, Maryland, Tuesday morning.

The boy, described as between 8 and 10 years old, was crossing the street at Belair Drive and Sedgwick Lane when he was struck about 7:50 a.m., police said.

He taken to hospital with minor injuries and is expected to be OK, Bowie Police Chief John Nesky told WTOP.

The driver stayed on the scene, police said.
