Police: Arrest warrant issued for Laurel man tied to fatal shooting of friend

WASHINGTON — What began as an argument between friends ended with one person fatally shot in Fort Washington, Maryland on Sunday night. Now police are looking for a man they say is tied to the killing.

Prince George’s County police obtained an arrest warrant on a charge of first-degree murder for Christopher Cyprus Crawford, 33, of Laurel, Maryland.

Police said that at around 11:45 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 8300 block of Oxon Hill Road. The victim, Tony Terrell Proctor, found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives claim that Crawford and Proctor, 40, of Upper Marlboro,  were friends. An argument preceded the shooting, police said.

Police have asked that anyone with information on Crawford’s whereabouts call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925.
