Police ID 2 women hit, killed by CSX train in Montgomery County

WASHINGTON — Two women are dead after a CSX train hit them in Germantown, Maryland, Wednesday evening.

On Thursday, police identified the victims as 25-year-old Daianne Peralta, of an unconfirmed address, and 30-year-old Cristina Segovia, of Gaithersburg.

According to police, the two women were in the area of the tracks near Waring Station Road and Peach Crest Drive around 8:30 p.m.

The train operator saw the women, sounded the horn and applied the brakes. Peralta and Segovia were struck by the westbound train and died at the scene.

It’s still not clear why the women were on the tracks. An investigation into their deaths is ongoing.
