Pedestrian struck, killed on Hungerford Dr. in Rockville

WASHINGTON — Police in Montgomery County are investigating a crash that killed one pedestrian in Rockville, Maryland, on Saturday night.

The crash happened a little before 10 p.m. on Hungerford Drive, police said in a news release.

Police said a man was trying to cross the northbound lanes of Hungerford Drive when he was struck by a car. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the car stayed on scene, neither the driver nor the passenger in the car were injured.

Police are still trying to figure out what exactly caused the crash. They have not yet released the name of the victim, pending the notification of his family.
