WASHINGTON — A 79-year-old woman has died following a crash in Montgomery County, that injured six other people on Saturday.

At around 1:40 p.m., officers from Montgomery County police, along with fire and rescue personnel, responded to Montrose Parkway in the area of East Jefferson Street in Rockville, Maryland, where a Toyota Highlander had left the roadway and crashed into a light pole.

The driver and six passengers were transported to local hospitals.

The front seat passenger, Rose Priscilla Ivy, age 79, of Durham, North Carolina, was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.  She died from her injuries at the hospital last night.

The driver, Bartilyn Seneh, age 30, of Appleton Place in Frederick, was transported to a hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

A 33-year-old female passenger was transported to a hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

The four remaining passengers, two, three-year old females, a 10-year-old female, and a 13-year-old female, were all transported to local hospitals with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
