Driving instructor accused of offering passing grade for sex act

WASHINGTON — A Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) instructor is out of a job after he was accused of propositioning a student for sex.

ABC7 reports a woman failed a driving test last month for rolling through a stop sign, but 21-year-old instructor Daniel Perry reportedly offered to give her a passing grade in exchange for a sex act.

Police say the woman got out of the vehicle and reported Perry to authorities, according to ABC7.

“Any allegation of improper behavior by MVA employees is immediately investigated and where appropriate, swift action is taken. The MVA has a zero tolerance policy and is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all customers at MVA facilities,” the MVA said in a statement given to ABC7.

Maryland State Police charged Perry with one count of malfeasance in office.

Perry is scheduled to appear in Montgomery District Court on Aug. 25.
