It’s one of the District’s best-performing professional sports teams you might not even know about.
They play their home games at Catholic University’s Carlini Field, and have athletes who are former Division I track, basketball and football stars.
Come learn more about the DC Breeze — the District’s professional men’s ultimate frisbee team!
Part of the Ultimate Frisbee Association (UFA) — which consists of 24 U.S. and two Canadian teams — the Breeze have made the playoffs for the last seven years and counting. They also have a women’s team counterpart, the DC Shadow.
In today’s episode of “Matt About Town,” WTOP’s Matt Kaufax sprinted over to Northeast D.C. to become one with the disc and play some ultimate frisbee himself.
Matt found that D.C.’s ultimate frisbee scene is a lot more prevalent than many might think, and that the sport is growing fast; not just in D.C., but across the country.
The DC Breeze play their first home game of the season at Carlini Field on Friday, May 10, and players say it’s going to be electric. Games are family and pet friendly, and promise heart-pounding action and highlight-reel moments.
You can buy tickets and visit the DC Breeze box office online.
If you want to watch ultimate games all season long, the UFA is streaming on digital platforms.
