Brick by brick: Northern Virginia’s LEGO Discovery Center offers creative fun for the whole family

It’ll have you in pieces — and it’s just around the block: The LEGO Discovery Center, located in Northern Virginia’s Springfield Town Center, is one of the D.C. area’s newest brick-tacular attractions.

The space boasts thousands of square feet containing 12 themed zones, including a ride, playhouse, Creator Center and 4D movie. Activities are endless for kids young and old — and even adults, too!

You can build a LEGO spaceship, scan it into a video game and blast your way through the galaxy. Or build a LEGO car, and launch it off a ramp past the LEGO pyramids!

The Discovery Center is even doing special events for the month of October, including Halloween-themed celebrations and adults-only nights, for those who want to embrace their nostalgic inner child and pick up a LEGO set.

For tickets to the center, and to see their full events calendar, you can visit their website.

Check out the video of WTOP’s Matt Kaufax, who went to Springfield to check things out and found out you can come away from your visit with more than just a new LEGO set — no matter your age.
