WASHINGTON — Leave the jacket and tie at home. A classic steak establishment is flirting with a more casual concept.
The Capital Burger recently opened its doors in D.C.’s Mount Vernon Square. The lunch and dinner dining spot, from the folks at The Capital Grille, features burgers “made with a proprietary beef blend,” hand-cut fries, house-made pickles, spiked shakes, cocktails, beer and wine.
Burger variations include a wild mushroom and Swiss burger, a blue cheese and truffle burger, and a French onion-style burger. Plates of tuna tartare, lobster and crab cakes, pan-fried calamari and a 7-ounce filet are also available — making The Capital Burger one classy burger joint.
The Capital Burger, 1005 7th St. NW, is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; happy hour is from 3 to 6:30 p.m.
