DC security officer robbed in Northeast

WASHINGTON — A security officer was robbed in Northeast D.C. Thursday night.

D.C. police said around 9:15 p.m. the officer was walking to his car after securing the Dorothy I. Height/Benning Library when the suspect approached him.

Police say the suspect held up a gun and, “This is a revolution. I want your gun! Get on the ground.”

The officer was forced to the ground.

The officer’s gun and radio were taken. He was not injured.

The investigation is ongoing.
