WASHINGTON — A 22-year-old Waldorf man was found dead along the side of a road in Charles County Tuesday night and investigators don’t know how he died.

Officers with the Charles County Sheriff’s Office discovered Deandre T. Nicholson near the corner of Middletown and Marshall Corner roads after they were called there for a report of a pedestrian struck about 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Nicholson wasn’t breathing when he was found.

He was taken to a hospital but medical personnel were not able to revive him.

Officers found no evidence that he had been struck by a vehicle, prompting a death investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.

An autopsy was planned to determine his cause of death.

Nicholson was last seen wearing a black jacket and red-checkered, pajama-style pants.

Investigators believe he may have been walking in the North Point neighborhood earlier in the day Tuesday.

Police ask anyone with information or who may have seen Nicholson at any time on Jan. 23 to call Det. J. Elliott at 301-609-6515.

Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in this case. Tipsters wishing to remain anonymous may contact Charles County Crime Solvers by calling 1-866-411-TIPS.
