BurgerFi brings its branded buns to Pike & Rose

WASHINGTON — Florida-based burger chain BurgerFi will join the long list of restaurants at North Bethesda’s Pike & Rose development.

It will open at 11881 Grand Park Ave., next to BlueMercury, this winter.

BurgerFi’s first location opened in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Florida, in 2011. It now has close to 100 locations across the U.S. and was named the Fastest-Growing Company by Techonomic and Franchise of the Year by QSR Magazine.

Its name is toasted into the top buns used on its hamburgers.

The BurgerFi menu includes Angus beef burgers, Vienna beef hot dogs, veggie and vegan burgers and shakes and custard. Its locations also serve craft beer, wine, sugar cane sodas and shakes.

There are about 15 restaurants at Pike & Rose currently, both fast casual and formal, and at least six others are coming to the Maryland location.

In April, The Block, an Annandale, Virginia, food hall, announced plans for an 8,500-square-foot Asian-themed food hall that will open in 2019.

Federal Realty Investment Trust’s Pike & Rose also includes a Canopy Hotel by Hilton, its second Canopy property — the other is at The Wharf.

The development also includes several retailers, including L.L. Ban, REI, H & M and an iPic movie theater, four apartment and condominium developments as well as offices.

BurgerFi’s other Washington-area locations include Silver Spring, Woodbridge and Leesburg.
