Keara Dowd is the afternoon drive writer for WTOP. Previously, she worked as the night editor, producing from 7 p.m. through the overnight hours.
After graduating from Ithaca College in 2012 with a degree in journalism, Keara returned home to the D.C. area and started working at The Washington Post as a news aide in the sports department. There, she did everything from layout to social media to reporting high school sports.
After a couple of years, Keara still had the broadcasting itch she had in college, so she joined WTOP.
When not working, you can usually find her checking out D.C.’s restaurant scene or cheering on the local teams — you can even hear her talking about them on some of WTOP’s roundtables.
