All clear at Marymount University after reports of man with gun

WASHINGTON — Police have given the all clear at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia, after reports of a gunman on campus Monday afternoon.

Arlington police responded to a call reporting a man in an “unknown parking lot on campus with a gun,” the university tweeted around 1:15 p.m. Around 2 p.m., the university tweeted that police had given the “all clear” and that it appeared to be a false report.

Students were told the situation was not a drill and to go to a secure location and wait for further instructions.

School policy prohibits anyone from having guns on campus.
