Anne Arundel Co. bus crash injures 17

WASHINGTON — A crash involving a bus and a car left 17 people injured  Saturday evening in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

The crash happened near Dorsey Road and Shipley Avenue in Harmans, Maryland at around 8:40 p.m., Anne Arundel county officials said  in a news release.

The bus left the roadway and went through the guardrail into the woods. A 17-year-old boy and a 20-year-old woman, who were in the car, were transported to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with possibly serious injuries.

Eleven people were taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center and four to Howard County General with minor injuries.

Six bus passengers declined medical transport.

Fire department personnel cleared the crash scene by 10 p.m. and turned the investigation over to  police.
