Avoid these breakfast foods if you want to eat right

WASHINGTON — Trying to eat healthy in the morning?

WTOP found a list of breakfast foods to avoid whether you eat out or at home. The worst sweetened cereal is Honey Smacks, according to Eat This, Not That magazine.

One cup of it has 100 calories and 15 grams of sugar.

If you like omelets, avoid IHOP’s Chorizo Fiesta Omelet, which is loaded with calories, fat and an incredible 3,220 milligrams of sodium.

Taco Bell’s A.M. Crunchwrap with sausage — and its 47 grams of fat — made the list. Hardee’s 700-plus calorie Monster Biscuit is named the worst breakfast sandwich.

And the magazine says the absolutely worst breakfast in America is served during Sunday brunch at Cheesecake Factory: The Bruleed French Toast has more than 2,700 calories.

A Dunkin’ Donuts multigrain bagel with reduced fat strawberry cream cheese has 500 calories. And just a half-cup of Bear Naked Brand Go Bananas … Go Nuts! granola is 280 calories.
