WASHINGTON — A large crowd of music fans is expected to gather Friday morning at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Starting at 10 a.m, a limited number of free tickets to the star-studded Sept. 24 “Concert For Charlottesville” will be given away.
The concert was organized by the Dave Matthews Band to foster a spirit of unity following last month’s violence in Charlottesville, which is the band’s hometown.
Other performers include Ariana Grande, Chris Stapleton, Justin Timberlake and Pharrell Williams.
People can start lining up no earlier than 8 a.m. outside John Paul Jones Arena.
You can only get a ticket if you have a U.Va. ID or a state-issued ID proving you live in one of these central Virginia counties: Albemarle, Augusta, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Nelson, Orange or Rockingham.
The organizers had been accepting online requests for tickets, but the deadline to make those requests has passed.
