Construction will close streets in Falls Church, Va.

WASHINGTON — In Falls Church, Virginia, South West Street is closed between Fowler and Parker streets for reconstruction. The work should be completed in one to two weeks, depending on the weather.

A detour is posted that instructs motorists to use Fowler Street, Ellison Street and Parker Street to drive around the closed section. Use additional caution when driving on neighborhood streets.

Residents along South West Street within the work zone and along Lanier Place will be provided access to their homes on an as-needed basis. Both approaches of Madison Lane will be closed at South West.

Parking is temporarily restricted along the south side of Fowler Street and within the work zone.

No impacts to waste collection are anticipated.

Construction activities are being completed on schedule, and Phase 4 could begin as early as next week. This phase will close South West Street from Parker Street to Ellison Street and will detour vehicles to Ellison Street and Madison Lane.

Parking along the north side of Madison Lane will be temporarily restricted.
