WASHINGTON — A station closure on the Red Line and single-tracking on all other lines will disrupt some Metro trips this weekend.
As a reminder, Metro now charges $2 for parking on Saturdays at all stations except Wiehle-Reston East. The charge is higher at more than a dozen stations if drivers exiting the garage do not pay with a SmarTrip card that has just been used to ride the rail system. Those non-rider fees are the same on Saturdays as on weekdays.
Silver, Orange, Blue Lines
Single-tracking near Foggy Bottom and Rosslyn significantly limits Blue, Orange and Silver Line service Saturday and Sunday.
Each line is scheduled only every 24 minutes, and the Silver Line is scheduled to run only between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston.
Green, Yellow Lines
Single-tracking between U Street and Georgia Avenue stations cuts service between Mt. Vernon Square and Fort Totten most significantly.
Yellow Line trains are only scheduled to run between Huntington and Mt. Vernon Square.
Green and Yellow Line trains are scheduled every 16 minutes each.
Red Line
While most of the Red Line runs at normal weekend service levels, Glenmont station is closed for track work.
Buses are scheduled to run between Glenmont and Wheaton.
Normal weekend Red Line service includes trains every 12 minutes during the day on Saturday and every 15 minutes Saturday night and Sunday, with some additional trains during the day downtown.
