2 dead in Prince George’s Co. after car smashes into utility pole

WASHINGTON — Two people are dead after a car crashed into a utility pole in Capitol Heights, Prince George’s County, Maryland, in the early hours of Sunday.

Officers responded to the scene at around 2:35 a.m. They discovered the car on Boundary Avenue at Opus Avenue.

Two adults inside the car were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Prince George’s County police.

It is unclear at this stage whether those who died were male or female.

The road is closed and investigators are working to determine what caused the crash.
