Man dies after suffering trauma to upper body in New Carrollton

WASHINGTON — An early morning homicide in New Carrollton, Maryland is under investigation, and police have a suspect in custody.

The victim, a man in his 30s, died after suffering trauma to his upper body.

It happened on the 6400 block of Carrollton Court in New Carrollton at around 3:30 a.m., police say. A 911 caller told police that the victim had been cut.

When police arrived at the scene, they found the victim with trauma to his torso. He was taken to a hospital but died.

A suspect was identified and is in custody. The victim’s identity will be released after next of kin is notified.
