Official: People rescued from burning building in Md.

WASHINGTON — Prince George’s County Fire crews are on the scene of a major fire at an apartment building in Lanham, officials say.

Firefighters responded to the blaze around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 9900 block of Good Luck Road.

Crews responded to a three-story garden-style apartment building to find fire showing from the terrace level, county fire department spokesman Mark Brady said on Twitter.

Brady said the fire moved upstairs and crews had to rescue people from the balconies.

Additional crews were requested to assist at the scene.

As of 7:20 a.m., Brady said the fire appears to be extinguished.
