Two dead, two hospitalized after Brandywine crash

WASHINGTON — Two people are dead and two are injured after a car accident on Route 5 in Brandywine, Maryland Wednesday night.

According to preliminary findings by Maryland State Police, at around 9:30 Wednesday night, a silver Volvo sedan was crossing Route 5 toward Earnshaw Drive when it was hit by a Chrysler Pacifica. Both passengers in the Volvo, Lawrence Dunbar, 60, and Wanda Marie Fauntroy, 53, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Paul Anderson Leach, 23, was driving the Chrysler. Both he and his passenger, who is 17, were transported to the hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the crash. They are both expected to survive.

The investigation is ongoing.
