WASHINGTON — When the Nationals take the field Wednesday in Philadelphia, they probably won’t be facing the Phillies’ newest prospect.
The Phillies will be handing out a Pope Francis rookie baseball card in advance of the Pope’s visit to Philadelphia, according to their website. (Of course, Francis will visit D.C. first, Sept. 22-24.)
There’s only one place to get a @Pontifex Rookie Baseball Card! Tomorrow at CBP. http://t.co/MBQXHTWpv5 pic.twitter.com/ObdXJD0p1F

No word on when His Holiness might take the field. With the Nats looking to complete a sweep Wednesday, Philadelphia might want to get him out there quickly.
