Although the number of burger joints in D.C. seems to multiply daily, Connecticut-based Plan B Burger Bar is banking on our region’s continued appetites for the all-American food.
The burger-centric restaurant and bar has signed a lease for retail space at 801 Pennsylvania Ave. NW. It will be the group’s first restaurant outside of New England. Ralph Tapiero of Papadopoulos Properties represented the tenant in the deal.
The 4,800-square-foot restaurant will feature Plan B’s extensive menu of specialty burgers and sandwiches as well as soups and salads. The beef in the burgers is touted as “100 percent verified humane, fresh, never frozen, wet-aged whole chucks and hand-ground on premises daily.”
In keeping with the major “b’s” its name refers to, the restaurant’s bar will also feature a long list of craft beers and bourbon and rye, including several small batch varieties. Some of the Connecticut restaurants feature happy hours including $3 mini burgers and other food specials and a beer and wine special for $3 [PDF].
