Your love deserves better than the same old songs. Here are 12 romantic songs that won't bore the fun out of your love life — or remind you of someone else.
We all know “Someone to Watch Over Me,” and we really don’t need to hear “Cheek to Cheek” again. But here are some songs of romance that haven’t been played to death.
They’re not all make-out anthems; they deal with devotion, heartbreak, resolve and other aspects of love. They’re not all slow-dance-worthy; they come in a variety of tempos, with timbres ranging from Prince’s electronic musings to Amanda Brown’s oboe. But they’re all beautiful, which is what it’s all about.
Listen and love!

The love songs come out around Valentine’s Day, but rather than bring you the ones you expect to hear, WTOP’s Rick Massimo is out with a list of ones that haven’t been played to death and are beautiful.
Rick Massimo came to WTOP, and to Washington, in 2013 after having lived in Providence, R.I., since he was a child. He's the author of "A Walking Tour of the Georgetown Set" and "I Got a Song: A History of the Newport Folk Festival."
