1 killed, multiple people hurt in Montgomery Co. crash involving bus

WASHINGTON — A man is dead and multiple people are hurt in a crash in Montgomery County that involved a bus.

It happened in the area of Norbeck and Avery roads in Rockville, Maryland, just after 8 p.m.

A Ride-On Bus was stopped eastbound on Norbeck Road when the driver of an SUV, 49-year-old Dumas Kantar, struck the rear of the bus.

Montgomery County police said that Kantar was trapped in his SUV. The Rockville man was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.

The bus driver, 57-year-old Rosa Maria Rodriguez, and three women on the bus were hurt and taken to the hospital for injuries that are not life-threatening, a news release said.
