2 dead in Potomac crash on Democracy Boulevard

WASHINGTON — A man and woman are dead following a car crash that shut down part of Democracy Boulevard in Potomac, Maryland, Thursday morning.

Montgomery County Police and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the crash around 11:45 p.m. They located a 2011 Audi S4 off the roadway.

Kent Matthew Brooks, 30, of Potomac, was driving the Audi eastbound on Democracy Boulevard.

For unknown reasons, the car left the road and struck a tree, police say.

Kathleen Michelle French, 33, also of Potomac, was in the passenger seat.

Both succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.

Democracy was closed between Gainsborough Road and Newbridge Drive as police investigated the incident.
