Md. private school teacher charged with sexually abusing students

WASHINGTON — A teacher at a private school in Potomac, Maryland, has been charged with sexually abusing two students over the course of several years.

Justin Gordon, 40, of Poolesville, Maryland, taught robotics at the Connelly School of the Holy Child, on Bradley Boulevard in Potomac, Montgomery County police say. He was fired once the school learned about the allegations.

Police say a teen girl told them on Tuesday that Gordon befriended her starting in October 2014. The relationship began informally at social and sporting events but had escalated to inappropriate sexual touching by this May.

While police were investigating, they found another victim who said that she and Gordon began a personal relationship in 2008 when she was a teenager at the school. The relationship led to sexual contact by 2012, police say.

Gordon was arrested Thursday and charged with two counts of sexual abuse of a minor and two counts of fourth-degree sexual offense. He was being held in lieu of $35,000 bail.

Police say there may be other victims. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 240-773-5400.
